Blue Note to Participate in New Pink Paradigm Summit

March 2022

Blue Note Therapeutics’ head of patient engagement, Laura Chavaree, and patient advisor Stacey Tinianov will play active roles in a national breast cancer summit to be held in Las Vegas on March 13.

The inaugural New Pink Paradigm Summit for Breast Cancer Leaders and Advocates is presented by the National Consortium of Breast Centers (NCBC).

The summit is scheduled in conjunction with NCBC’s 31st Annual Interdisciplinary Breast Center Conference at Paris Las Vegas, March 11-16. More than 250,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer annually, accounting for 30 percent of all new cancer cases in women, according to the organization.

“We recognize that you are a special breast cancer advocate and that your role is not easy, and especially now with the extra challenges that Covid has put upon all of us. That is why you are invited to join NCBC’s Leaders for a one-day revolutionizing event to honor the differences that leadership and advocacy make for all of us and to join forces in a new way for improving the standards of breast care and breast cancer survivorship,” NCBC said on its website.

Chavaree and Tinianov, a breast cancer survivor, will take the stage for an engaging fireside chat. The two will talk about the emotional challenges that often come with a cancer diagnosis, treatment, and even into survivorship. They’ll also explore how new digital therapy apps are providing a convenient way to support cancer patients throughout their journey.

“This is a great opportunity for Stacey and me to hear from breast cancer leaders about the work they’re doing, and to share our mission of supporting patients with the emotional challenges they may face,” Chavaree said. “I look forward to listening and learning what their needs are, and making sure we are on the right track.”

Tinianov was diagnosed with breast cancer in May of 2013, just six weeks after celebrating her 40th birthday. Since her diagnosis and treatment, she has become a vocal advocate for patient engagement and empowerment via collaborative education and community building.

“Honestly, I’m absolutely giddy about being in person again with other advocates, care partners, and clinicians as we collectively work to change the narrative for individuals diagnosed with cancer,” Tinianov said. “While this particular conference is focused on breast cancer, the information that we gather and share will be helpful as we work to make psychosocial support an option for anyone with a diagnosis or history of cancer.”

Headlining the summit will be NCBC Founder, Barbara Rabinowitz; NCBC President, Dr. Sandhya Pruthi; NCBC Executive Director, Kimberly Bolin; and publisher of Breast Cancer Wellness Magazine, Beverly Vote.
